Apples and Fuchsia.

At the end of the garden is what I call “the wild patch”. It has another apple tree, which I planted years back, and they are called “Red Jonathan”. It has also had a big crop this year.
Our friend Duncan has taken a lot to give to a lady who makes jam with it mixed with her own fruit, and then sells it at a hospice as a fund aid. She had been doing this for a long time.
Good to know we can ring him and he’ll collect another lot.
The apples on both trees are sweet and crunchy. Stephen made a load of Apple purée the other day as it can be frozen.
A taste of summer.
The fuchsia hedge has recovered from the heat and is full of delicate pendulous flowers as usual.
Amazing how they recover..
Even the garden seems to be breathing a sigh of relief. The grass has started to push its way back through the dry ground!
I never thought it would at one time…..
As I sit here with my morning coffee looking out through the patio window, the shrub roses which have flowered and fought the heat, look luminous pink up by the summerhouse.
We must have had some rain overnight.
After my rather hectic two days involving a lot of exercises it will be a slow morning!
And I forgot to say that the Physiotherapist yesterday told me I was in really good condition so there was no further need for any sessions with her.
Made my day!
Now I will just continue with the daily exercises she gave me, and the Pilates class, which I am enjoying, (even though at the end we are all in need of a sit down!).
Time for another coffee.
