Marina del Rey

We picked up our hire car this morning and drove to Marina del Rey for a champagne brunch on board a boat. We ate and sailed around in the sun, it was a great way to spend a Sunday morning.

We then watched the world go by from the marina's park. One of the many fantastic things about America is that the parks we have visited all have areas for people to meet and have a BBQ or party. In the park today were several children's parties and a very civilised hen (bachelorette) party.

After the park we went to Venice Beach. It was certainly interesting!

It was then another drive on the freeway (scary!) to the Pacific Vinelands drive-in. We saw Beyonce in 'Obsessed'. Pacific Vinelands is apparently the only drive-in left in California. It was just like I had imagined it, including drivers sneaking people in by hiding them in their boot! It was a great experience.
