Wednesday at last

MOH and I are late for everything but today we arrived at Aviemore Railway Station with plenty time to spare.

The train pulled into the station and we looked for our carriage and there it was, our name on the window 'Cameron. Light Lunch x 2'. It was 20 minutes before departure but we went on all the same, we were going to make the most of this.

Those officianados of tartan among you will no doubt have noticed that the tartan interior in pic 1 differs from that of pic 2. We were shown to the Black Watch carriage but when we noticed the one next door was resplendant in Cameron of Eracht tartan we were offered a move.

I was like a small child in a sweetie shop. The stewardess came to check that we were comfortable and ask if we were ready for lunch. It was just as well she did we discovered that the booking office had not passed on the fact that I needed a gluten free lunch. No problem for the Strathspey Railway, they asked what I would like and held the train up while someone went over to a local hotel to collect a special lunch for me.

The Guard blew his whistle and shouted 'all aboard' - it was just like in the movies.
