Thought I‘d better check out the allotment and headed up with some trepidation, turned out to be a mixed bag. Plenty spuds and courgettes as expected but nothing else to speak of, though I did pick a couple of ripe figs. The blackberries have been left to shrivel again, pretty pissed off about that, while the birds have feasted on turnip and kohlrabi greens and the chard and spinach have just vanished. Methinks there‘s been a severe lack of watering over the summer. The sunflowers have flourished despite that.
