More spring cleaning … and a celebration
More spring cleaning
Well, the can of oven cleaner certainly did its work and we now have a sparkling clean oven. Am feeling very satisfied. Hubby swept up all the leaves and dust from our two balconies, then gave them a good scrub. They too are now sparkling clean. I sorted out our linen cupboard and the “pantry” cupboard and a couple of cupboards in the kitchen. All in all it was a very satisfying day.
We got married in NZ fifteen years ago and, when we returned to the UK, had a duplicate celebration for all our UK friends and family. Today is our “duplicate” wedding anniversary so we went to La Vista in St Heliers for dinner - quite appropriate, really, as the duplicate celebration was at a Spanish restaurant in Hampton Court. When hubby went to pay the bill there was a pre-payment of $15. When hubby queried it, he was told that the young couple sitting a table away from us, who’d only come in for dessert, had made the payment. What a lovely gesture, especially as it covered the cost of the scoop of ice cream we each had for dessert. It really made us feel on top of the world.
Tonight’s blip shows the sunset over central Auckland before we left for dinner, my Beef Wellington, which was superb (I had taken a bit before I remembered to take a photo), the view from the restaurant with the restaurant lights reflected in the window, and the view that I’ve photographed a couple of times on a sunny afternoon - it looks quite different at night.
