Great Egret

Today’s blip marks the completion of my eighth month with Blipfoto, as I continue with my first attempt to complete a daily 365 photo challenge.

It is always a treat for me to see a Great Egret (Ardea alba) during a walk in the park. They have been unusually difficult to find this year. I don’t know where they have been hiding all summer, but now I encounter both egrets, and herons more often. I suppose that they are gathering to prepare for their big migration.
