Back at HQ to meet David

Today was the first time in 2022 I have been to head office. The drive there took almost three rather than the anticipated one and a half hours and several of those I had planned to see face to face in the end couldn’t make it. Not quite what I had hoped.
Nevertheless, The Amgen campus in Thousand Oaks is very lovely. Sitting outside mid afternoon in the deep shade provided by these trees with temperatures approaching 40C in the sun was very pleasant. The drive back was shorter but still painful. Temperatures in Calabasus just before turning South for the descent  into coastal LA reached 116F /46C!
