Pretty in Pink

We stayed up late last night and slept in this morning. Kitties were getting antsy for their breakfast. The new kibble is not working well for Millie but the soft food is. She now sleeps on my arm most of the night. Silly kitty. Blanche is just as clingy. She sleeps by my feet. Both are on the recliner with me as I type. Hubby has worked on office tasks today. He also picked up meds that were actually ready for me and him. Otherwise, it’s been a restful day for him. Before breakfast, I surveyed the gardens for blip material since I will be home all day. Zinnias are hubby’s favorite flower. They are so prone to get powdery mildew in our hot and humid weather. The plants I bought in early spring all died. I have tried growing them everywhere in gardens and pots. It seems this last group is thriving in the garden by our well head; lesson learned for future plantings. I enjoyed catching up on my to do list, washing my light fixtures, hanging the kids’ art work in the stairway, making the WV grocery list, etc. Today is our oldest daughter’s birthday. We gave her patio lights and tiki torches as an early gift so she could enjoy them during summer break. Her family of four usually goes out alone to celebrate birthdays. I’m delighted they are content with just each other’s company. Close knit families are the foundations that builds solid communities, states, nations and on and on. We are thinking of taking our mother to a Christmas play in PA later this fall. My sister and BIL stopped by to firm up plans. That was the easy part. Getting our mother to agree to leave the house overnight is a different matter. Thanks for visiting.
