Mikhail Gorbachev, RIP

Mikhail Gorbachev, the former Soviet leader who brought the Cold War to a peaceful end, has died aged 91. Mr Gorbachev took power in 1985 and introduced reforms, as well as opening up the Soviet Union to the world.

Looking for something Russian for the blip today I used this special 1980 Moscow Olympic Games stamp album. The cover is rather bland, and so in the extra photo, I show a couple of the stamps. These Games were 5 years before he came to power.

No I did not attend the Moscow games. I believe this album was very widely offered.
