Rhyl Miniature Railway - backblip
After a lovely slow and relaxed morning we took a ride on the last train round the marine lake and this is Michael, our driver. There was a little kerfuffle/excitement too as the little engine caused a small fire from a burning ember which landed on the tinder-dry grass; there was a lot of whistle blowing and flag waving by the guard to stop the train which reversed, but its sister engine had seen what happened and was there before it and had put the fire out.
The other excitement was having a walk round the lanes by the campsite and finding hedges full of lovely ripe blackberries of which I picked a huge bowl full, then after dinner a quiet evening sitting in the sun, reading, knitting and quaffing a glass of red, or two.
Gorgeous sunset later.
