Beech on the beach

I love this tree. It sits at the top of a sandy bank on the River Tyne and is a good spot to see kingfishers and woodpeckers. And an otter every now and then.

When the weather is warmer, folks hang out on the river beach. Kids, dogs (and some adults ;) ) enjoy a paddle. All in the gentle leafy shade of the beautiful beech tree.
