Shocked to find two drowned quail in the pool.  Very unsettling.  Glad neighbor C. was in, she helped me by holding open a couple of garbage bags while I fished them out.  Felt badly for the poor birds and hoped they died quickly and weren't too scared. 

There's a story behind their demise, but the one we were given is a lie.  (I am not happy.)

Had a sit in the sun for a bit while the pool filled.  The lemons are coming along nicely.  Watered a few of the very wrinkled succulents.

Air quality deteriorating, hazy with that wildfire smoke sepia.
