A Groyne with a View

It felt much chillier this morning as I walked in my bright pink beach robe through George Square to hitch a lift from Sue to the beach at 7am. No one, fortunately, gave me a second look; already the workmen were busy taking down barricades and dismantling the marquees and stalls in the George Square Gardens which Underbelly had appropriated for the Fringe. Bin lorries were also much in evidence.

The tide was relatively high today and the sea ‘bouncy’ in the east breeze. The water temperature was 14° which is at least double what it will be in the winter and much appreciated by us knowing that we will only be able to stay in the sea then for half the time we did this morning and it will be so much colder getting dressed.
It is so lovely to warm up in Sue’s car with the heater going full blast rather than sitting homeward bound in a cold bus with the windows open.
