Chardonnay
As you can see we visited wine country. We went for a picnic and wine tasting at Sokol Blosser Winery. It was another gorgeous sunny day. The wine and picnic was great. The girls handled themselves very well considering it's not the most kid fun thing to do. Still we had fun.
We also took Addie with us. It's amazing that pretty much everywhere is dog friendly in Oregon. Addie had a great time too but it was a bit too hot for her. Addie's surprisingly good travel companion. Very easy going and can chill with the best of them.
However, I have to hand it, again, to Kim for coming up with the trip and thinking ahead about everything we needed. She makes it too easy for the rest of us (eh, me that is). I think the best Moms are like that! :)
We did mess up a little when we went wandering off and ended up on private property - and got a mild telling-off to boot. We felt bad about it but it wouldn't hurt to post a sign either. Next time we are at a winery we'll definitely ask where it's okay to wander before we set out.
One of our big discoveries today was pairing a very sweet riesling with blue cheese. Yum! And we did manage to come away with a few bottles of plonk.
As I said, a very hot day today. In the mid eighties (which is around thirty Celsius). The rest of the week is meant to be the same, except for a cooler Tuesday. Definitely in the Summer mode now. Might have to move my office into the basement though. We'll have to wait and see.
