Song Thrush
We used to see these beauties all the time when I was growing up, but they've now become a bit of a rarity. It is a great shame as they have the most wonderful song.
As you can see the elder berries are proving very popular with the small birds. With a bit of patience and the right tree you can almost guarantee yourself a shot of some little brown job racing in to grab a berry. I had a choice between the Thrush and Mr and Mrs Blackcap but I'd featured a blackcap recently. I also really like the way that the thrush is using its tongue to hold the berry against its upper beak before it tilts its head to roll the berry on down the beak.
I have however, given you the male blackcap as an extra :-)
