At the Fête

All this weekend our village is celebrating the fête de la St Louis, and last night we attended the jambonnade in the local sports hall. 200 people were served very efficiently with a Sangria type apéro, mixed salad, ham and chips with mushroom sauce, cheese, fruit tart and coffee.
Then we went outside to a brilliant concert by Ronnie Caryl, who when he said he was born in Liverpool, caused our Spanish/Welsh friend Carmen (who has went to uni there and has a Liverpudlian hubby) to come over all fan-girl, and she was thrilled to go up and speak to him at half time.
It did go on a bit late, and we got home at 1am, I doubt we’ll make it to the brocante this morning………
