I've designated this last couple of weeks to transform my shed into a useable space. I'm almost done, as you have seen in my repetitive renovating-blips, nothing much else happens, that's why the timing was right.
One of the gardens in the old part of Kalmar, near the castle, went from being a private garden to a public one, for recreation of the cities population, as a couple of sisters in the beginning of the nineteen hundreds decided. It really is an oasis, well kept, by some organisation who preserves the old plant-species and the fruit-trees. Beside all this, there is a cafe and often, in the summer, there are performances like concerts, musicals or theatre. Last year they invited some poets from Kalmar to do readings under the walnut tree during an afternoon. Eva, my partner in music, was invited to read her poetry and was invited again this year together with her poet-friend Ann. After their readings, the stage was open for whoever wanted to read some of their own poetry. Four people did and we had a lovely afternoon, where many a good poems were heard.
This has been one of the summers best days, weather-wise. I've been sweating in the shed of outside but also taking it easy, enjoying what feels like a bonus summer day. From tomorrow a cold front with some well needed rain is passing slowly for a couple of days towards the east and after that, temperatures cools down considerably.
