Eilean nan Ròn on a grey morning, waiting for the rest of the group to finish loading up and launch their boats. Neave Island is in the background, with the arch in one of yesterday's extras, just visible at the North (left) side of the island.
We headed around the top (North - the ocean side) of the island, which was quite lumpy with a fairly heavy swell combined with some tide running. Good fun... IMHO, but too hazardous to come in close to most of the interesting arches and caves. We eventually came into a narrow slot, with that swell pushing us rapidly at the entrance - first extra, looking back to those behind. The slot is only passable with the tide in. A calm wider section with some caves called for a wee explore, and pause for the sweetie jar to be passed/thrown around.
On to Rabbit Islands for a lunch stop, and then a visit to some skerries, putting off the eventually return to Talmine, and the end of the weekend's paddling. A long drive home. It was a good weekend, in a beautiful and wild area
