The Australian Red Fly

This fly is rarely seen in our garden, apart from this time of year when it is slow moving and looking for warm and comfortable places to land. I have never seen this one during our summer months.

I do not know a lot about it but it does make an interesting blip subject. Its real name is the Orange Lauxaniid Fly. It is very small and noted for its patterned eyes.

Redder fly.
