Chioggia, Italy

Chioggia  is a seaside town south of Venice, Italy on the Venice Lagoon. This cityscape was painted around 50 years ago by Adelaide artist Andris Jansons. I note from recent photos that the trees on the right have now gone. Chioggia's older historic area has canals and narrow alleys, similar to Venice. 

This was one of several hundred paintings that we saw on display this morning.
