Not Christo

Glimpsed from the kitchen window, this looked a bit like a Christo wrapping art installation. When I went out to photograph it, though, I couldn’t make it look like anything except what it was – a patio umbrella wrapped up in a big plastic bag.

With the wet winter and before that the wet summer we have had, the umbrella’s waterproof cover was richly adorned with green and black mould. So we put it in the washing machine. As soon as we took the cover off, of course, the rain started again. So rather than have a wet umbrella, we Christo-ed it.
