A day at the seaside
A gentle day on the North Kent coast after a busy fortnight of ‘hard’ holidaying!
In glorious sunshine we headed first to the Reculver towers, a prominent coastal feature on the site of an old Roman Fort - before enjoying the English seaside buzz at Herne Bay, liking the geometry and the negative space of the pier and what looks like it might have been where the pier once finished (although someone out there may know different) - so choosing these for my blip and extra. .
A swim on the beach at Tankerton before strolling into Whitstable for a wander round the harbour, enjoying the vibe before the obligatory fish and chips under the warming early evening sun
Post blip addition- It is the old pier head. I’ve changed my photos round and added a link to the history of the pier for anyone interested https://haydonrouse.com/herne-bay-area-guide/history-of-herne-bay-pier/
