More chillis

This follows on from an earlier photo of guess the chilli variety. From a different plant there are the first of the superhot chillis to ripen. I took the photo (although it won't win any prizes) simply because I love the shape and vibrant colour of these chillis.

They are thick walled and very heavy for a superhot chilli, which are normally thinner walled on my experience.

A little Googling and confirmation from a plant identification app tells me that they are from a variety called "7 Pot" which apparently gets its name from the fact that they are hot enough for a single chilli to make 7 pots of chilli.

As they've been grown in the UK I doubt that they'll be that hot, even after our heat waves this year but I'm hoping for lots more for this autumn's preserving sessions.

All of the superhot varieties have done well this year and I'm waiting for them to ripen. It looks like the white naga may be next and I have some chocolate Habanero ripening too. If I'm lucky I may get a photo that looks like a bowl of skittles.

I'm conscious that it's national dog day and I haven't included a photo of my little girl, but Mrs D is out and she's sulking!

Happy Bank Holiday weekend everyone
