There are worse places to work.

We had a professional development day today. The school has gone all out looking at a completely new approach (for us) to focus on the needs of students dealing with trauma recognising the horrible statistic that this applies to over 70% of children. The expectation is that by creating an environment that meets the needs of these students we will also enrich the program we offer every student. Today was all about how trauma effects us physically and how we can learn strategies to cope and allow space for learning. Other topics come later in the year. So today this was the view that the presenter had to compete with. She did an amazing job but it was lovely to rest my eyes on this lovely scene from time to time.
