Bingley Five Rise locks

60 ft drop in 300 feet along the canal, this is a staircase where the bottom gate of one lock is the top gate of the next. Was like going over the edge of the world when you motored into the top lock.
The opportunities for flooding a lock, emptying a lock or getting it crossed up were too great so BW lock-keepers supervise your passage through. Very nice guys all of them.
Oh and the leap frog came unstuck today when the automatic bridge at Granby near Riddlesden jammed partly closed. We held up the traffic for 45 minutes until the maintenance guys arrived. Had a bus, loads of cars and vans and a low-loader with a 360 on the back, didn't take a Blip - thought we may end up in the canal.
