Day 17
I can get out bed easily and go for a walk down the corridor. My legs have become very weak after lying in bed for so long and much of the muscle tone has disappeared. So it’s surprisingly hard work. But I get a different view of the sea from the windows at the end of the corridor.
This morning the nurses arrived saying I was going home today. My hopes were later cruelly dashed by a doctor who said the wound was a little swollen and I’d be here a while longer yet.
I’ll believe my release is imminent when they give me my discharge papers.
