Allotment 2022 onwards

Busy bees

This is one of the many bees busy on Thomas's asparagus.  I think it is a tree bumblebee even though it has a black bottom (see extra).  I was fascinated by the amazing amber pollen on her legs.
I had a tutorial in the evening, so snatched some time on the allotment in the afternoon, but it was so hot again.  I managed to clear the rest of the bed apart from the turf strip - far too hot to tackle that.
The third part is just a record of the weed pile drying out where the old raspberries have been cut down yet again.
Desperate for more rain on the plot - raking the bed level raised clouds of dust - but the forecast looks promising with a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms in the next 24 hours.
