Who's That Looking at Us?
A pair of Tree Swallows (Tachycineta bicolor) on the Rail Trail in Amherst this morning. Even on a grey day, the iridescent blue on their backs shows up well. To improve the lighting I moved to my right to place the birds directly in front of the broad tree trunk behind them. There are many around, and quite a few seem to be pairing up--it's that time of year :)
