Widdop, Upper Gorple and Lower Gorple.

One of my very favourite places to get outside is high above Hebden Bridge and Heptonstall in a lesser known location of Widdop.

It's remote, potentially bleak, and exposed moorland but it is an area of absolute natural beauty and stunning scenery too. I love the roads that just seem impossible and the fact it is off the beaten track.

The walk I enjoy up in this location brushes the edges of three reservoirs; Widdop, Upper Gorple and Lower Gorple. They were all low in water supplies but not as much as other local reservoirs.

Outside is free and what a free gift it is!
