Low-Hanging Fruit

Another day over at my Dad's. When I arrived he still seemed off colour, and the first thing I did was call the GP to say that he was not improving. She agreed that there was an issue and referred him to the hospital. She arranged a non-emergency ambulance since I had no means of getting him there.

While we waited the four hours for the transport to arrive I made lunch, cleaned the fridge and did a few other jobs including making sure his hospital bag was ready and asking the family across the road to look after the dog.

My Dad is adamant that he does not want my cousin or his son to take her back as he said they both handled her very roughly. She has already been walked by the neighbours, who have a couple of other similar dogs of their own. When the woman came to collect her, little Princess ran eagerly to greet her, tail wagging like crazy. She will be happy and well looked after there!

The ambulance folk seemed in two minds whether to take my Dad in or not as by the time they arrived, typically, he had perked up considerably and had no more toilet trips. But they checked him over and said his blood pressure was low and he had an irregular heartbeat.

They decided to take him in and gave me a lift too (Not sure if they were meant to!) The nurse there was reluctant to take him, saying that the GP should have ordered tests rather than sending him in there. She was persuaded though, and I'm to call in a little while to check how he is doing and find out what will happen next.

It's been another long day. It's been a long week, and it's only Wednesday!

These are apples on the tree in my Dad's garden! The only shot taken today.

Going to watch some Rugby League now!
