Bumper crop of Toms!
A damp day was predicted and it was dark and wet this morning so we both got on with some jobs that were pending.
I got on top of the ironing before starting on altering some curtains for Grace which she wants to put up across the glass doors into their living room. She had to wait till the building work was completed and the new floor done before they could be measured accurately. Something we did last week.
I’ve done two of the four but they are hard work to measure and cut as I have to do them on the floor. It dried up and was quite sunny after lunch so I couldn’t face doing the others so I’ve just worked on finishing off the first two.
Meanwhile our tomato crop has gone mad after a very slow start. We’ve eaten lots, and given a tub to my friend yesterday and two to Grace to take home last week. So today Chris has made some red tomato chutney. Normally he makes green tomato chutney with those tomatoes that are unlikely to ripen but we’re not sure there will be any this year.
A lot of work for three jars!
There are lots more still to come for us to eat and maybe make pasta sauce or soup.
