197 years ago today...

197 years ago this letter was sent to all the Gentlemen, Clergy and Yeomanry of Devon. The letter got stuck behind the fireplace in the former Rectory where we live and only reappeared in the 1970's when renovations were taking place. It makes quite amusing reading, not least if you see the author's name.
