Back in the day
This is the back of the first ranger station built in the newly established Nantahala National Forest in North Carolina. Built in 1916 it was mainly used by the watchmen of the Wayah Bald fire tower after the stone Wayah Bald fire tower was built in 1937. It was really hazy today so I was not happy with the photos of the vistas from the tower. They would have been great on a clearer day.
An exciting morning as we woke up to see a black bear chowing on the deer corn. I took a photo but it wasn't good.
