Misery

M6. In the roadworks. Pouring with rain. Heavy traffic. Average speed cameras (actually, we weren’t going fast enough to have to worry about them). On our way to Chester for a few days of trying to sort mother. Yep, that’s misery by any definition of the word.
Still, by Saturday it will all be over and we will be back home. Or I’ll be languishing in a cell, after being arrested for wiping out my family. I’ll hope for the former, but can’t entirely discount the latter.
As this is the first full week we’ve spent in Chester for some time, food shopping was number one priority when we eventually arrived, as there was nothing in the fridge or freezer. But we are now fed and watered, and chilling in front of the telly. Not a lot on, but I’ve found “The Blues Brothers” on ITV4. My all time favourite film. I can quote every line of dialogue. Which Mrs C says is a) nothing to be proud of and b) extremely annoying to have to listen to when she’s trying to watch the film.
But with plenty of laughs and some great tunes, it’s just what I need to counteract the misery of the drive down and to prepare me for the joys of fridge freezer shopping (don’t ask) with mum tomorrow.
And thanks to Mrs C for taking the photo - I had both hands firmly on the wheel at all times!
