Monday: OIL …

… our heating oil, to be more precise!
MrD had been keeping an eye on the valve on our heating oil tank and planned to replace it because he suspected it was leaking slightly, we top up with oil twice a year and have been using what we had because replacing the fitting requires the level to be below the valve.
Our friendly oil supplier has loaned his truck and oil tank in order for MrD to do the work today - pumping the oil above the valve out into the holding tank.
Rain was forecast, but it’s been forecast for many weeks and never arrived, but according to a certain LAW events take place when you’d prefer them not to:
so today I was saying “thank you for the welcome rain …” and “could you just wait until he’s finished doing the replacement”
MrD wasn’t to be defeated by rain, he dressed in his “oilskins” and waxed jacket.
We had very heavy rain showers all morning, finally clearing around 2pm when MrD had finished the work and was returning the truck and oil tank.
Made pancakes for tea, just because I’ve not had pancakes for ages and we’ve got a couple of dozen eggs to use.
