Hazelnuts

Today's the day ...................... to be green

There's still a lot of green to be seen round here.  It's rainy days like today that keep things well-watered - but, of course, we never had anything approaching the hot, dry weather for weeks on end that they were subjected to down south.

These lovely hazelnuts are still very green - but just the fact that they are ripening on the trees, reminds you that the 'season of mists and mellow fruitfulness', is just round the corner.  Before we know what's happening there will be the reds, oranges and golds of autumn all around.

Doesn't sound too bad - if you put it like that ......................?!
