Sants Festa Major

Back blipping by a day.

First full day back home, bags unpacked, washing machine on, things put back in their place.  We couldn't bring ourselves to put the Yatzee away just yet though! 

It's the start of the Sants barrio Festa Major - each barrio/area has one, some bigger than others.  Gracia is the biggest and most famous and Sants is one of the bigger ones, but less touristy than Gracia.  We got ourselves a good seat at a table and enjoyed some of the atmosphere before it got too busy.  Two hours after I took this photo, the heavens opened and the volunteers would have had their hands full to get ready for the big street barbecue later on at night.  The festa lasts till 28th August, so we'll probably be back as this street is just 10 mins walk away and a regular inclusion on our walks.  We're quite lucky as our barrio of Les Corts borders with both Eixample and Sants, which have quite different characters and atmospheres.
