Alex got picked up around 9; I'd hoped to grab the Borders train to Tweedbank then sprint the 16 miles to Kelso along the banks of the Tweed to see his debut in Div 3, but.... I was required elsewhere so my mini morning adventure fell apart and instead I picked up the pieces on town and took the pup for a walk instead.
And a very pleasant walk too, mostly in the company of soon the be erstwhile Edinburgh blipper Magi From the Commie Pool, we wandered below the Crags, behind Dynamic Earth, up Holyrood Road and up the Pleasance, consumed excellent sucuk before wishing him well on his impending Magxit to Berlin.
I rushed home to greet Alex after a 6-1 cuffing before an afternoon of dishes and domesticity. Oh and blackberry picking - the first crumble of the year featured later.
Tom arrived back from his pool afternoon (the dry version, no trunks involved) and quesadillas/ football / school uniforms featured instead of Cassandra Jenkins... the one thing I'd bought tickets for as my sole festival treat, but it bit the dust in exchange for a weekend in Yorkshire. She went for a bit by proxy.
