Quiet Day
It felt good to get back to Mass after being sick for two Sundays. We planned to go to 11:00 Mass and then have lunch out. We were out of the showers, dressed and ready at 8:30 so we went to 9:00. We simply love the way the officiating priest so reverently but ‘down to earth’ brings the Liturgy to the people. His homilies reach your very core. Obviously, he is retired and helps out at neighboring parishes. He just happened to be at St. Gabriel’s when we were here last year also. The parish is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Their church and prayer garden are simplistically lovely. Hubby was going to make sausage and pancakes yesterday but that plan did not work out. He made them for lunch today. We love Cracker Barrel pancakes so we bought their mix to try. Yum, they were perfect. It rained off and on all day. Our tarp worked like a charm and kept us dry while hubby napped. I decided to walk around the neighboring vacant camp sites and the forest across the road hunting fungi. I believe I have found a potential blip for later in the week. We have taco pie for dinner and I will definitely make that casserole again. Brooklyn’s team tied 0-0 for today’s game. It will be great if we can get to a few games but if the family spends the night, I will have Trek duty. Sure hope your Sunday was as pleasant as ours. Stay safe. Thanks for dropping by. “The church seeks to help form people who can risk being peaceful in a violent world, risk being kind in a competitive world, risk being faithful in an age of cynicism, risk being gentle among those who admire the tough, risk love when it may not be returned, because we have the confidence that in Christ we have been reborn into a new reality.” - John Yoder
