Diary of an Edinburgher

Bin find number 546

Took things slowly this morning, after last night’s excesses. Once again, we are grateful that Archie is not an early riser.

I took Archie out for a walk round the Meadows. There is so much rubbish lying around because the bins are full, idiot people just put bags of rubbish beside the bins, and it all gets blown about far and wide. My normal practice of picking up litter as I go along is rather pointless. I get so annoyed and upset at this state of affairs, it’s not good for my mental health!

We walked over to the big circus tent area, and I got my e-tickets printed off - we’re coming here on Thursday for a show. The whole area is well set up, with a covered bar area, several foodie places, a Speigletent and the Big Top. I sat in a deck chair for a while, and there was a show going on while we were there, it sounded very loud, but the enthusiastic crowd were enjoying it. On the way home, Archie pulled me past both cafes. Funny wee chap.

We found this quite sweet wee painting - must have been a child’s. Why would anyone throw it away?

Slightly better step count today - 6,557.
