stage 2 of the dales way took us from Burneside to the lowgill viaduct close to Sedbergh. we had a friend with us today, mags, which meant we could leave a car at either end. although there was a coo wind and a few damp patches we were never really wet (except underfoot). at our lunchstop one of the 'old lads' came for a chat and he was full of local stories. he couldn't believe we knew his home area of howgill and the local hills so he and parlick were away 'camping' as my mother would call it. more days like today please.
