Waiting for the Vaporetto.

This morning we sadly had to leave Venice, and to match our mood it was raining heavily so the umbrellas were out at the water bus stop for the morning commute.
We were awaiting the Allilaguna water bus for the airport, about a 50 minute journey.
By the time we were ready to,take off the sun was shining again.

This stop is San Stae and just up the little street behind is where our hotel was located. Great place for good food. We ate in a small restaurant here last night and had the most delicious pasta for primo piatto and meat and fish dishes to follow. It was a place recommended on our Cicchetti tour (see back blip 26-04-13) for 'slow food' using local produce. Back blips start with this one too.

We then decided to make the most of our daily 'bus' ticket and return to St Marks Square down the Grand canal from the above stop in the dark. Quite strange as many of the buildings were dark but a good way to round off our long weekend break.
