Bird life on the Pond
We were expecting a very wet morning but were pleasantly surprised when the early morning drizzle was replaced with sunshine.
Destination this morning was Rouken Glen for a round the pond walk followed by a walk, with trolley, round the garden centre.
In the morning the left side of the pond gets the sunshine while the right is largely in the shade of the large trees on the island.
Moorhens are a common sight on the pond but today there was a bonus of a Little Grebe chick and a family of three or four Tufted Duck chicks. The latter were ducking and diving on the shaded side of the pond so they weren’t quite so easy to spot (a bit of editing required)
