On this day...

On this day in 1929 Lady Violet, Countess of Powis tragically died in a car accident. Her husband George Herbert 4th Earl of Powis installed this memorial window in the church that we are restoring.
She was a keen gardener and was responsible for the restoration of the famous gardens at Powis Castle.
She was such a visionary and I'd love to of met her.
It's lovely that the window depicts violets and that they are in flower right now.
