Big Day
It was a big insect day.
Top row - left to right: Eastern comma, Red Admiral, Carolina sphinx (moth - dead)
Middle row: Hummingbird clearwing moth - brand new and plumping up its wings (I think), monarch caterpillar, bumblebee and hummingbird clearwing moth
Bottom row: Eastern tiger swallowtail, hummingbird clearwing moth
Given that there are flowers - I'll tag this for Flower Friday as well! That big pink thing is our hardy hibiscus, just now starting to bloom.
The extra is the Carolina sphinx in my hand - so you can see how BIG it is. The poor thing probably smacked into a car last night. Its caterpillars are the tobacco hornworms.
