Twisted Chimney, Rhymney

“There are many paths but only one journey.”
Naomi Judd
Feeling guilty at not having posted for so long, nearly two weeks!
My shoulder has been giving me gyp for a couple of months since overdoing it with the sledgehammer laying a base in the garden. Decided to give acupuncture a try this morning, quite an experience having the needles stuck in and the throb of the electrical pulse. Watch this space.
Impromptu visit to cousin W for catch-up, haven’t been since lockdowns so plenty to talk about. It’s official, I look like my grandfather says W, something I’d been told recently which came as a pleasant surprise to me. Also, apparently Dad used to have an unofficial sweet shop in the cupboard under the stairs at home in Garden City just after the war! I assume they were hard to come by and he saw an opportunity to help the family budget in the post-war austerity, ever the one for turning his hand to something new, he also used to make leather bags to sell.
On the drive there I saw several possibilities for a photo for today, so after my family visit I stopped off at Bute Town (Y Drenewydd) for the shortest of walks up to and around the twisted chimney to get an interesting angle. It’s been a few years since I last visited (eight actually!) and it’s looking a bit weathered now, but still interesting for me as I wanted a black and white for the day.
