Whatever the weather . .

Today's weather wasn't too promising, which was a shame as my friend Tim and I had planned to do a bit of wandering and garden visiting. We set off in the rain in the hope that it would be over before we got to Ellenabeich (which is often called Easdale, which it isn't!).

In the event it had stopped and we had a interesting hour or so wandering around the rocks on the far side of the bay, while the cliffs of Mull opposite were half hidden in the mist and the waves pounded on the rocks in the bay. We had a fine time trying to identify wild flowers and ferns before making our way back to the village and lunch in The Oyster Bar.

After a hearty lunch of Cullen Skink and crusty bread we went back a few hundred yards to the lovely garden of An Cala, where I took my Blip. We had a good wander about before the heavens opened and we had to shelter in the amazing cone-decorated hut. After the rain packed up we had another walk around the garden until the heavens opened again, when we took refuge in the other garden shelter. Eventually we gave up and drove home. As we approached Oban the clouds disappeared, the sun came out and as I write the sky is blue and all is right with the world!
