Cracking

Cracking crazy clouds at Porty tonight and then a low eerie set of lights to the East over North Berwick. Helicopter? Circling, higher and then lower again. Half the beach were watching then just before nine it came right overhead and low. Aha! Must have having a flyover Edinburgh Castle for the Tattoo.

Rather crap day at work, topping off a fully crap clinical week. Got a bollocking from the top corneal consultant in Edinburgh threatening negligence over a patient who hadn’t been referred, very happy to inform him that this was my Mickey Mouse ‘ boss’s omission and not mine, and I was the one who emergency referred her during Covid having discovered his error. I hope he gets a massive ticking off as well deserved. The patient didn’t get referred for surgery that could have saved her sight. Only 30 so every right to be disgruntled but it takes a lot for a consultant to pick up the phone and bollock. I thanked him for pointing it out and asked if he could put it in writing for the attention of my boss.
One day he’ll get his comeuppance.
