Ready and waiting
A busy day for us!
My husband and I were hosting an event for Winchester GoLD (Group for adults with learning disabilities) at our local wildlife area. There was a lot of prep needed before they arrived including putting up two gazebos, and setting up one table with activities and another with welcome drinks. I took this photo about five minutes before about thirty five people appeared. ( I couldn't include a photo of the group for privacy reasons.)They had walked about a kilometre on footpaths from the local supermarket car park, having caught a bus from the city centre. .
They all seemed to have a good time, whether doing a scavenger hunt, making leaf rubbings, looking for minibeasts using a sweep net in the long grass, picking blackberries, or just chilling out and enjoying their picnics in the shade of the gazebos.
It's pleasing for us to be able to share the wildlife area with other people. Hopefully, some of the visitors will return again, with their families and friends for further explorations.
