Rain stopped play....

Quite early this morning Mr MC set out for Lords where he was joined by his brother and our friend A.  I suppose the good news is that his tickets are unusually for a Wednesday, rather than a Thursday and tomorrow there will be rail and tube strikes.  The 'bad' news is that rain stopped play this afternoon  and Mr MC  only just made it home before some tube stations were closed due to flash flooding.  I know that we needed the rain but not all at once!
Picture is our garden receiving its ration of rainwater, with Violet's sunflower looking rather sad.  It is nearing the end of its flowering period though.
In other news:  Thames Water is imposing a hosepipe ban from next Wednesday. Certainly around here, folk are sceptical as we have suffered countless lengthy road closures due to lengthy repair times  for countless leaks, many in the same place.
